When White Board Learning—a small, referral marketing business—came to CA in 2015, they wanted one thing: results.

CHALLENGE: As a small business looking to build a vision and a name for itself, White Board Learning needed an expert that could run with their idea and make every dollar count. Challenged with a new concept and short timeline, we were determined to bring in results that demonstrated our value while also showcasing the unique services the company provides.

Relationships

With two proposals from other marketing companies in town, White Board Learning came to us looking for something different. They didn’t doubt the other firms’ capabilities but weren’t sold on their process or passion. When we sat down with White Board Learning’s owner, we asked her to walk us through her classes. Both of our commitment shined through as we spent hours and days combing through her classes and discussing why she wanted to start a business around them. Together, we uncovered tremendous opportunity, set new goals, overcame challenges and felt excited for the journey to begin. Our client tells us that’s when “she knew” she made the right decision to partner with our firm. We weren’t focused on molding their new company to fit inside our box. We were committed to learning their business and what they needed from us, to support who they wanted to be.

As White Board Learning continued to grow by leaps and bounds, the owner experienced a traumatic injury that made getting up every day impossible. Making business personal as we always do, we weren’t going to let this stop her or White Board Learning from continuing its success. CA traveled to our client’s home, laid out all the calendars for White Board Learning’s upcoming classes and helped her figure out what we could do to keep the business going, momentum high, and provide support to our client during a difficult time. Over the course of her recovery, we strategized a new course of action, promoted White Board Learning’s next program series and kept clients updated on our client’s recovery. Our commitment not only gave encouragement to White Board Learning but more importantly, it gave strength to our client to continue. It’s easy to say that our relationship with this client is one we never take for granted.

Results

“I’ll give you 3 months and $5,000 to show me results.”

These were the words of White Board Learning’s business owner who was looking to bring her vision to life with her new startup company. Knowing our own capabilities and what would be feasible within that timeframe, we accepted the challenge. Given our timeline and budget, we had no time to waste and set out to paint the picture of our client’s dream job. We sat down with White Board Learning’s owner several times in the first few weeks to formulate a plan for her vision. Her experience checked all the boxes, we knew she was passionate and we understood the need for the company’s services and who they would appeal to. We established a pricing structure that would be profitable, launched a website, put together a comprehensive workbook and promoted White Board Learning’s programs across several multi-platform campaigns. With only 3 months and $5,000 to start a brand-new company, the odds were stacked against us, but we successfully met our goal and proved we could continue to provide value long after launch.

Since then, we have helped the company grow as a leader in referral marketing training, provided fresh ideas that engage more consumers in its services, sought out public relations opportunities for its owner and helped grow a substantial following on its online platforms. Impressed with our results and commitment, White Board Learning has continued on to be one of our longest standing monthly retainer clients. The owner also hired us to be the marketing firm for another company she is a part of, BNI Central Indiana. Having helped build the foundation of White Board Learning has brought us tremendous reward, and we look forward to celebrating many more milestones in the years to come with this client.
